Norma’s Review: Everything You Want Me to Be by Mindy Mejia

Everything You Want Me to BeEverything You Want Me to Be by Mindy Mejia

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Date read:  November 22 – 24, 2016

EVERYTHING YOU WANT ME TO BE is a Psychological Mystery and Suspense Thriller that touched on so many different aspects of all the characters lives in a small town farming community. We all have different dreams, expectations, desires, and how we deal with grief. I found the story quite sad in spots as MINDY MEJIA definitely knows how to pull you in to the story. I was engaged right from the beginning of the book.

I thought the title of this book was really good, I was able to decipher right away why this title was chosen for this novel. But, cannot actually say why as it might be a little bit of a spoiler. I also like to figure out who the suspects are but at the end I didn’t actually expect what truly transpired.

The story was told in alternating perspectives of Hattie, Peter, and Del who was the local sheriff and also a family friend to the victim’s family. I loved all the characters and was totally wrapped up in each of their lives. I really loved Hattie’s characters for so many different reasons. The storyline was executed very well and was easy to follow along.

It was a fast-paced, quick, and easy read with a satisfying ending. Would recommend!!

Thank you to my Goodreads friends for introducing me to another great read!
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book.
