The Opposite of Everyone is an intriguing and gritty story with flawed characters each of them holding their own secrets. Paula Vauss is a strong and tough lawyer who is damaged and guarded with a sympathetic side to her. I like that the story is told alternating between past and present tense. From the backstory, we are able to understand why she is so tough and as the story is told we start to see her grow, and heal.
I love it when a story with some grit connects with me emotionally and leaves me feeling satisfied at the end. That’s what Joshilyn Jackson has done for me The Opposite of Everyone.
