The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Date Read: December 23 to 27, 2016
Nightingale is a heartbreaking and heartwarming story of two very different sisters and their different roles they played in World War II, Nazi-occupied France.
As the war progresses, we see how each sister changes as they fight to survive. One learns to fear less and the other to fear more. They learn things about themselves and each other and the sacrifices they are willing to make for the ones they care about and for what they believe in.
I love it when a book makes me feel the sacrifices the characters make for each other and makes me ask myself what would I do. That’s what Kristin Hannah has done for me with The Nightingale.
