News of the world takes you on a 400-mile long dangerous journey arcoss the state of Texas in 1870 after the civil war. The characters, elderly honorable Captain Kidd and scared, unhappy 10-year old Joanne who is lost between two cultures, took me on a journey that explores the relationship that bonds a family together by heart. A relationship bonded by trust, responsibility and understanding.
I love it when a story takes me on my own emotional journey with a vivid description of place and time. That’s what Paulette Jiles has done for with News of the World.
