Norma’s Keto in a Coulee Progress & Reviews

Hello Week One!  So I thought I would also add some personal information to this review for all of you that might like to join me &/or follow me on my new Keto lifestyle.  It will be beneficial to me to help with accountability issues as well as keeping me motivated.  I have included two reviews below for the books that I am using while on this journey.  Please feel free to join me or send me some encouraging words!

I absolutely love Leanne’s approach! This book is so much fun and interesting to read with lots of useful information. I don’t usually read cookbooks from cover to cover but the creative way that this cookbook is laid out I found so appealing and extremely motivational.

On a whim I picked this book up at Costco as I was really curious about the Keto diet and thought hmmm, I think I’m going to give this Keto lifestyle a try. I have been following this plan for six days now and I am thoroughly impressed with my progress so far and how helpful this book is. It is like a one-stop guide to all things Keto and I absolutely love and appreciate that the plan is totally customizable and tailored to my individual needs.

I found the book to be very informative, simple to follow and understand! And the author is Canadian which makes it a little easier knowing that the ingredients are easily accessible and where to purchase them. I was able to find most of the ingredients with no problem at all. Which is always a plus when following a healthy eating plan.

*** I haven’t tried too many recipes from this book yet as I am using this one as more of a reference guide and getting to know me Keto book.  But, I have tried the Rocket Fuel Latte where I can’t say I liked it too much but I was able to get it down without too much difficulty though.  I am not a coffee drinker so I am sure that definitely had something to do with it.  I am going to try a different variation tomorrow morning to see if I enjoy it a little more.  My mom is also following the Keto diet with me and she loves coffee and didn’t have any problem drinking it!

I have tried many of the recipes in this book and I am very pleased with how easy they are to prepare and make. They have all been delicious and a big hit with my family too.

  • Eggs Benedict * Excellent * 8/10
  • Broccoli, Bacon, and Cheese Egg Muffins * Yummy * 10/10
  • Bunless Philly Cheesesteaks * Excellent * 8/10
  • Bacon-wrapped Cheesy Chicken * Yummy * 10/10
  • Snickerdoodle Cupcakes * Yummy * 10/10

    • Weight: ⬇️ 3.8 lbs
    • Start Date:  October 20, 2018
    • Sleep:  Haven’t noticed any difference yet.
    • Energy Level:  My energy level throughout the day seems to have improved some.
    • Difficulty Level:  Easy!  I hope I find the rest of the upcoming weeks just as easy as this week has been.
    • Goals:  NO NIGHT-TIME EATING, NORMA! Don’t forget to prepare a lunch!  Drink water!
    • Affirmation:  I deserve to feel and look healthy!

Random Thoughts:  I have been pleasantly surprised in how much I have embraced this lifestyle and actually really look forward to eating and cooking Keto!

  1. I couldn’t agree with you more about how easy the keto lifestyle is. Hubby and I have been going strong since August and just love it. We’re still learning though, so thanks for the book recommendations!

    1. Oh, that makes me so happy to hear that you are still loving it after a few months into the keto lifestyle. I have allowed and given myself permission that during the learning stages of going keto if I don’t do it exactly as plan it is all okay. I think that has really helped my mindset.       1. We’re pretty rigid about it, got a blood monitor, and recently started paying attention to the calorie intake, too. Hubby has lost 20 lbs and I’ve lost 10. We have super energy and almost never feel hungry. Love it!

    2. Congratulations to both of you on your progress so far! That is awesome and so encouraging to hear! I haven’t started counting macros yet but I do make sure that I am eating enough of everything though.

    Weight: ⬇️ 4.6 lbs
    Start Date: October 20, 2018
    Sleep: No help there yet!
    Energy Level: Haven’t seen a change yet. Still pretty tired.
    Difficulty Level: Moderate because I’m not actually making any recipes yet.
    Goals: NO NIGHT-TIME EATING, LINDA! Make some recipes this upcoming week.
    Affirmation: I deserve to feel and look healthy! (I like your affirmation for this week.)
    Random Thoughts: I appreciate being able to do this keto diet with my daughter! You are always a great help to me and keep me motivated.
