Can’t Wait Wednesday: The Suspect by Fiona Barton @figbarton @BerkleyPub @about_thethrill #travelingsistersread #BookBloggers

Here we are again sistering up with our Traveling Sisters Christina and Kim with another Can’t Wait Wednesday meme that is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.

The Suspect by Fiona Barton has all of us cheering and we all can’t wait for this group read.  After reading The Widow and The Child, Fiona Barton has become a go-to author for Norma.  Both Norma and I were cheering around the house when we received our copies in the mail from Berkley Publishing. Seriously I did.  You should see how my family looks at me when I do that.  Thank you so much Elisha for our copies.

Kim over at It’s All About The Thrill has really expressed her excitement over this title and had me on the floor laughing with her feel good post.  Christina @ Recipe and a Read always knows how to bring on the excitement.  Check out their posts, they will have you excited to read this title and laughing too with their feel-good posts.

Here come the cheers for The Suspect by Fiona Barton

The new must-read standalone crime thriller from the author of Sunday Times bestseller, The Widow, and the Richard & Judy No. 1 bestseller, The Child – featuring unforgettable journalist, Kate Waters.

The police belonged to another world – the world they saw on the television or in the papers. Not theirs.

When two eighteen-year-old girls go missing on their gap year in Thailand, their families are thrust into the international spotlight: desperate, bereft and frantic with worry.

Journalist Kate Waters always does everything she can to be first to the story, first with the exclusive, first to discover the truth – and this time is no exception. But she can’t help but think of her own son, who she hasn’t seen in two years since he left home to go traveling. This time it’s personal.

And as the case of the missing girls unfolds, they will all find that even this far away, danger can lie closer to home than you might think . . .

Let’s Chat!  Have you read The Widow or The Child by Fiona Barton?  I have read The Child and really enjoyed it but I didn’t realize at the time the story featured the same character Kate Waters from The Widow.  I thought it worked well but I would of like to have read The Widow first.

Have you read The Suspect?  Want to read and have added it to your want to read list?  Drop us a comment!  We loved to hear from you.

  1. I can’t wait to read this as a group! I don’t really know why this is my first Fiona Barton book. Especially since hearing that Norma is such a fan. It sounds like my kind of book!

    1. Lets put The Widow on our radar for a Traveling Friends read. I have it and have been wanting to read it! I really like The Child and we get introduced to Kate Waters in The Widow.

    1. After we read this one let’s do a Traveling Friends read for The Widow! I feel like I am missing out for not reading that one.

    1. Let me know your thoughts on The Widow if you read it. If you haven’t read it I am adding it to the Friends group this month. Join in if you can.
