Hello everyone and Happy Saturday to you all!
So guess who came to visit me and my adorable granddaughter, Natalie? Brenda!!!
I am so thrilled and so happy to have had the pleasure of spending four wonderful days with Brenda. We had some great quality time together and we did lots of baby holding and hugging too.
I actually took two weeks vacation to be able to spend time with Brenda as well as help out our new mom. So I have been spending lots of time with my daughter-in-law and of course our little sweetie, Natalie.
I always have these random bookish questions that I’m curious about so I ask our Traveling Sisters a weekly (sometimes more) book related question. We thought it would be fun and interesting to take some of those questions to our blog and see what you all think or do. I hope that you will also join in on the discussion with us.
Norma’s Random Book Musings Question
So we are really curious to hear what your most anticipated read is for this year? I know it is early days…….but we’d love to hear if you have read any great books so far this year and have they made it into your favourite reads shelf?

I might have a few highly anticipated books this year so far which are My Lovely Wife by Samantha Downing, No Exit by Taylor Adams, The Night Olivia Fell by Christina McDonald & The Invited by Jennifer McMahon (which I don’t have….so bummed LOL). Yes, my very first and only book that has made it into my favourite reads shelf so far this year is The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides. I absolutely LOVED it!!!

The Night Olivia Fell is also one of my anticipated reads and I am really looking forward to it. I think we can say that is a highly anticipated Traveling Friends group read. Start date is around March 1. Christina MacDonald will be joining us in our discussion. If you are interested in joining you can find the group on Goodreads or drop us a comment below.
For favourites so far, Verity by Colleen Hoover took me by surprise and I really enjoyed it. I really look forward to adding more books on my favourites lists.

Great question Norma! 💜 My most anticipated read would be The Night Olivia Fell by Christina MacDonald and Kelly Rimmer’s latest – The Things We Cannot Say. Really looking forward to both! No Favourite Shelf reads yet this year but hoping to change that real soon.
Enjoy that gorgeous baby and your time with Brenda! Wish I was there with you! 💗

Now to the best part. Your answers. Please join in our discussion and let us know your answer. We would love to hear from you!

I’m such a big fan of the In Death series by J. D. Robb so I’m looking forward to Connections in Death.

J. D. Robb is the pseudonym used by Nora Roberts just for this futuristic mystery/police detective series. I’m hopelessly addicted.

I have read the first couple of book from this series and have a few more that I haven’t read yet. You have just reminded me that I need to get back to this series, Jonetta!

You know I’d like to talk you back into the series☺️ I’m a co-moderator of the Goodreads group for the series.

Norma, I read whatever books I get approved of and some I buy after reading reviews. So I don’t have any futuristic anticipations. Whatever I get my hands on, I read… Sorry, this was a dull answer.. I read back the comment.. I sound drab 😂😂🤣🤣

You don’t sound drab! I love that you seem to go with the flow – that’s awesome!!! 💜

Shalini, you don’t sound drab at all!! I tend to read whatever books I’m told to….LOL but there are definitely a few that I really, really, really want to read though. 🙂

So many good books being published this year but I’d have to say my most anticipated is Lisa Jewell’s The Family Upstairs (love her books) and also The Favorite Daughter by Kaira Rouda (really enjoyed Best Day Ever). I’m also looking forward to a couple of others mentioned in your post.

Also just remembered that Charlie Donlea has a new book coming out this year and I’m really looking forward to it as well. I think it’s called Some Choose Darkness although I’ve seen two different titles out there.

Oh, I totally forgot about The Favorite Daughter by Kaira Rouda, so thanks so much for reminding me about that one Carol…..that is definitely another book that I am highly anticipating. I just won myself a Goodreads Giveaway copy that I am really excited about. 🙂

I’m so excited for you that you get to spend all that time with your grandbaby, Norma!
Of course the later half of the year, we don’t know a lot about what’s coming out yet, but based on what I currently know my most anticipated reads are:
* Stone Mothers by Erin Kelly (He Said/She Said was SO good!)
* A Golden Grave by Erin Lindsey (loved the first in the series)
* I’ll Find You by Liz Lawler
* Never Tell by Lisa Gardner
* A Dangerous Collaboration by Deanna Raybourn
And Testament by Margaret Atwood! Long, long overdue.
Have I mentioned how much I love these posts?

I want to read Handmaid’s Tale. I will have to get to it soon. I did watch the TV series.
Love Lisa Gardner and I am looking forward to that one too! I am reading Don’t Wake up right now. I didn’t know she had a new one out. It must release earlier in the UK?

Thanks so much, Myndi! I am having some wonderful bonding time with our granddaughter. 🙂 Love Lisa Gardner and also love seeing her on your most anticipated reads list. I have read pretty much all of her books except for some of the novella’s…..how about you?
Well that makes me pretty happy to hear that you love these posts! I have lots of fun thinking up questions every week.

I’m actually a new Lisa Gardner fan. I accidentally requested the last DD Warren and got approved, read it and fell in love. Haven’t made time to go backwards, but I’m actually starting Never Tell tonight! 😀

Got to love it when that happens! You need to read them all. So good! I didn’t request Never Tell but I did pre-order it. I am so looking forward to it!
